Around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday HCSO Deputy Stacy Vaughan responded to a road rad complaint where the victim had stopped at the Hope Community Church parking lot on Highway 11-W in Surgoinsvlle.
The ex girlfriend stated she was traveling east on 11-W approaching Surgoinsville when Jonathan Dwayne Rimer, 36, 121 Builders Lane, Rogersville, started following her in his black Jeep.
"(The ex) stated Jonathan pulled his vehicle extremely close to hers while following her," Vaughan stated in his report. "Jonathan then pulled his vehicle along side of her vehicle while making erratic movements toward her vehicle. (The ex) stated she felt in danger for herself, her passenger, and her 7-month old baby who was in a child seat secured in the back seat."
Vaughan added, "(The ex) stated she refused to stop her vehicle, at which time Jonathan pulled in front of her vehicle and slammed on his brakes. The caused her to take evasive action, almost striking Jonathan's vehicle."
She stated she finally got away from Rimer and stopped in the church parking lot to call for help. Her passenger corroborated the ex-girlfriend's statements, Vaughan noted.
While Vaughan was taking statements Rimer reportedly drove by, and Vaughan caught up to him and conducted a traffic stop.
Rimer allegedly admitted to the allegations, stating, "he was only trying to get her to stop", Vaughan said.
Rimer was released from the Hawkins County Jail on $9,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Hawkins County Sessions Court Oct. 10.
